As CBD becomes more popular for people to treat a range of different issues it is now becoming popular for pet owners to try ease issues with their furry house pet. CBD for dogs is becoming popular however you must check with your vet before using CBD with your dog. THC is a component of hemp plants and is toxic to dogs and will be found in some CBD oils this could lead to harm to your pet if the CBD oil has THC. You must always check the label and with your vet before giving any CBD product to your pet.

Flow CBD has 0% THC in our oil to avoid the rick of humans feeling “High” when trying to receive benefits from CBD. Flow CBD oil also starts at the low percentage of 3% CBD 300mg which makes delivering a dose easier to control as opposed to using to use a small amount of a high percentage CBD oil such as 1500mg. 

An abstract from the National Library of Medicine on the “Pharmacokinetics, Safety, and Clinical Efficacy of Cannabidiol (CBD) Treatment in Osteoarthritic Dogs” suggests that CBD used twice daily in their test could increase comfort and activity in dogs with Osteoarthritis. 

“Veterinary assessment showed decreased pain during CBD treatment (p < 0.02). No side effects were reported by owners, however, serum chemistry showed an increase in alkaline phosphatase during CBD treatment (p < 0.01). Clinical significance: This pharmacokinetic and clinical study suggests that 2 mg/kg of CBD twice daily can help increase comfort and activity in dogs with OA.”

There is currently no CBD company with the authorisation to advertise for dogs. There are currently no guidelines on dose for dogs varying size and weight. You are advised to ask your vet for advise on CBD for your dog and they will suggest a CBD brand that meets the requirements. Your Vet legally are the only authority on CBD use for dogs and other pets.
